DAYOSS Fund Extensions

When looking at the performance charts, you will sometimes notice them labeled as Extended Data. This is an additional proprietary innovation that DAYOSS introduced to help the investor make more informed decisions. When a fund has an inception date later than January 1 2000, then the fund is extended using our proprietary AI and machine learning models. Keep in mind this extension is an estimate, a best guess, on how the fund would have behaved in the past based on how it behaved since its creation. This serves the very helpful and primary purpose of shining light on risk that is otherwise hidden by lack of history.

For example, imagine a thematic fund started trading in 2015 and it has been doing really well since the COVID crisis of 2020. However, very similar funds that have existed for much longer show that after 2008 these types of thematic investments also did very well, only to lose 90% of their value from 2010 onwards. These considerations are very important to the investor and helps avoid rushing into newly formed funds with limited history, as the the search for returns must be weighed against risk and the latter is harder to assess with limited history.
